Geniatech Unveils A Powerful New RK3506 Industrial Development Board

February 7, 2026

Geniatech, a leading provider of embedded computing solutions, today announced the launch of the DB3506, an industrial development board powered by Rockchip’s RK3506 processor. Designed for industrial control, human–machine interface (HMI) systems, IoT gateways, and other embedded applications, the DB3506 delivers an exceptional balance of performance, connectivity, and reliability in a compact, cost‑effective design.

At the heart of Geniatech DB3506 is the RK3506, a heterogeneous SoC that combines three ARM Cortex‑A7 cores for application processing with a Cortex‑M0 core dedicated to real‑time control. This architecture allows developers to offload latency‑sensitive tasks to run independently of the main CPU while maintaining smooth, responsive interfaces. The SoC also integrates a hardware‑accelerated 2D graphics engine supporting display resolutions up to 1280×1280 @ 60 fps, providing a strong foundation for advanced touch‑enabled HMIs and industrial control panels.

Geniatech DB3506 provides a wide range of industrial interfaces, including dual Ethernet ports, multiple USB 2.0 ports, CAN buses, RS-232/RS-485, HDMI and RGB outputs, audio, and onboard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. For remote or mobile deployments, an optional 4G module can be added via a mini PCIe slot. Industrial-grade features such as a watchdog timer and real-time clock (RTC) further enhance system reliability in critical applications.

The SBC board offers flexible memory configurations with 256 MB to 1 GB LPDDR3 RAM and 256 MB or 512 MB NAND flash options. It supports Linux operating systems built with Yocto or Buildroot, ensuring broad software compatibility and streamlined customization. Engineered for demanding conditions, the DB3506 operates across an industrial temperature range of –40 °C to +85 °C, ensuring long‑term reliability in harsh environments.

“Modern industrial systems demand platforms that combine reliable control, responsive interfaces, and flexible connectivity,” said a Geniatech spokesperson. “The DB3506 provides engineers with a scalable, stable foundation for HMI and industrial control applications, helping accelerate time‑to‑market.”

Geniatech DB3506 is now available worldwide. Engineers and product teams can access technical resources, datasheets, and software packages on Geniatech’s website to start building their next-generation embedded systems.
