Android “TV box” to “AndroidTV” Box
From Android “TV box” to “AndroidTV” Box, It took Geniatech 8 years.
Thanks to Google and its Android TV team, now Geniatech got its set box certified by Google, ATV495Max and ATV598Max with TV tuner built in for linear digital TV.
Geniatech started to develop its own Android AOSP based set top box part number ATV1000 since 2009, with the 1st generation Amlogic chip-set AML8726-M1, Android 2.2 based, Cortex A9, 800Mhz, WiFi as an option. AT that time, there was a Google TV which was just started and the ecosystem was not built, Geniatech had no chance to be part of the participant. After 8 years working and get feedback from the market and support from the chip-set vendors, now Geniatech has a rich product line with more than 80 models and AndroidTV OS is coming with many features and are widely accepted by the market rather than the original Google TV. And also after 8 years, Geniatech also grew to an outstanding company in the Android based STB with its own software and hardware development team, and has its own manufacturing factories both in Shenzhen and in Anhui, 6 offices including 3 branches outside China mainland for oversea markets.
Bases on AndroidTV’s strong ecosystem, Geniatech’s AndroidTV products have all the capability of AndroidTV, Google Assistant, Google cast, DRM, Playstore, YouTube and with easy to use unified user interface, apart from this, Geniatech also has its Android TV with linear TV tuner inside, which can let operators combine the free to air linear TV contents with the OTT contents easily. For operators, Geniatech can provide many value add services, not only the hardware, but also more services on the integration on operator’s and third party OTT/IPTV contents and platform to the top of existing AndroidTV platform, together to make the whole ecosystem easy and user friendly to subscribers.
Geniatech will continue to work on AndroidTV product line, to release 3-5 AndroidTV products in early of next year, to full fill the growing market demands, covering entry level to high level market requirements.
